Angels & Hearts now at Flapjacks Cafe

'Madonna' by Kathy Betts
Fifteen talented artists from The Riverside are recreating their successful art exhibition ‘Angels and Hearts’ for a new show at Flapjacks Cafe in Kentish Town. The work was inspired by visits the art groups made last year to the historic surroundings of Southwark Cathedral.
Artists made drawings and took photographs inside and outside the church, which they used as inspiration for this colourful and varied collection. Ideas came from diverse sources such as stained glass, candlesticks and icons, or trees and the view across the Thames. The artworks were made using a range of mediums including paint, collage, and drawing, and combine to create an atmospheric and beautiful show.
The project was led by art tutor Gail Dickerson, and Angels and Hearts was first exhibited in the Refectory at Southwark Cathedral in Summer 2011.
The exhibition runs at Flapjacks Cafe, 315 Kentish Town Road, London NW5 2TJ until 27 February from 9.00am to 3.30pm, and all works are for sale.
