Community Support Worker (female only)

The Camden Society provides a range of innovative services across London and in Oxfordshire, enabling people with a learning disability to live full and satisfying lives.  

We are currently seeking Support Workers in our Outreach Service based in North London. You will work flexibly within a dynamic and mobile team to deliver high-quality, individual services to the people we support, within their communities.

You will support people to:

-  access opportunities in training, leisure, education and employment
-  learn new skills and to have a wide range of life experiences
-  create and maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.

Ideal candidates will have:

-  Experience working with vulnerable people in a community setting
-  An understanding of supporting people with a learning disability and/or autism spectrum disorder
-  The ability to ‘think on your feet’ Good problem solving skills Basic IT & record keeping skills.  

 An NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care would be an advantage.  

We provide a full induction and training programme to help you to develop in your role. Where required, we will support you to achieve the nationally recognised Care Certificate.  

The role involves working flexibly, including some evenings and weekends. You may be required to work sleep-overs, and occasional waking nights.  

Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check if successful.  

This role is for a female worker only and is exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1 -occupational requirement.
