Unity Works is a specialist not-for-profit service dedicated to supporting people with a learning disability to gain skills, achieve qualifications and secure jobs, so they can reach their full potential. 

We run successful social enterprise cafes creating opportunities for people with a learning disability to showcase their talent.   If you have a passion for creating delicious locally sourced foods and would like to pass this on to our trainees and apprentices, then we would like to hear from you!   We are currently seeking a Sous Chef for an exciting opportunity to join our social enterprise café in Victoria.

The café is located on the 19th floor and uses the funds it generates to provide training and create jobs and apprenticeships for people with a learning disability to build skills and careers in catering  

The role is to support and train people with a learning disability, whilst consistently cooking the menu to Unity Kitchen specifications.

You will have the ability to take on all daily and weekly responsibilities of the Head Chef in their absence. You will work as part of a dynamic team, reporting into the Head Chef, delivering high-quality food and drinks to customers in the café.  

 The ideal candidate will have:   

- An advanced food hygiene qualification or NVQ 2/3 in the relevant field; 

-  A proven track record of achievements in a catering role;  

- Highly person-centered with a positive attitude towards people with learning disabilities; 

- Enthusiasm to teach and learn.    

 The role is predominantly Monday-Friday, occasional out of hours may be required in line with special events   In return we offer a range of attractive staff benefits and great development opportunities.
