Whatever you're into

Because we support people with disabilities in every area of their lives, we have an enormous range of volunteering opportunities for you to choose from. Whether you're interested in creative arts, sports and therapies, cooking, social care, horticulture, computing, teaching or driving, we're sure to have an opportunity for you.

We encourage people from all backgrounds to volunteer. Our award-winning PASS project encourages people with disabilities to volunteer and support their peers to enjoy community sports and leisure activities.


Current opportunities

Great Escape Volunteers - August 2013

Love camping and the outdoors? Then jump on board! We’re looking for volunteers to support our Great Escape summer holiday in Buckinghamshire for one week this August.

This is an opportunity to get great events experience, make new friends, enhance your CV and have fun all at the time – what’s not to like?

We’re looking for people who can help with driving, setting up our campsite, supporting people with disabilities to have an unforgettable holiday, cooking and helping to run sports, arts and craft activities. In return, you’ll get meals, transport to and from the event and a place to stay in our campsite.

If you're free and want to help out help out during the week of 11-18 August please get in touch. Find out more about the Great Escape – a summer holiday that supports 200 people with disabilities to take a break from the city.

What we're looking for

For most volunteering opportunities at the Camden Society, you don't need to have any previous experience. We ask that you are enthusiastic, positive, patient and respectful.

Most of all we need you to be willing to support people with disabilities to learn new skills and develop new relationships in the ways they choose and at a pace they feel comfortable with. You will get full training and support to feel confident in your role and enjoy your time with us.

To become a volunteer you will need to have an informal interview, complete a CRB check and provide two references.


How to apply

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Camden Society volunteer. Unfortunately we do not have any volunteering vacancies at present, but expect to begin recruiting again in April 2013.
