iPLAN: Life Planning Services in Oxfordshire

Aim high

Whether you'd like to learn to sail, get to grips with technology or learn a new travel route, iPLAN makes it easy to plan what you want to get out of life and enjoy the best that Oxfordshire has to offer.

Get support to work out your goals, book onto courses and choose activities to get to where you want to be. Any iPLAN service can include transport if you need it.

Whatever you'd like to do, if you have a disability and live in Oxfordshire, take a look at the ways in which iPLAN can support you.

Learning for Leisure

Try technology sessions, explore your area on a nature walk or dig up some history at a local museum. Learn more money and travel skills by lunching in different cafes and using public transport.

Creative and performing arts

Produce short plays in drama sessions and perform in local theatres. Learn camerawork to make documentaries and short films. Display your talents in a flower arranging class, or get hands on with a craft session.

Body and spirit

Unwind with massage or aromatherapy, work on your confidence and self-esteem in Discover Yourself sessions, or ease yourself in gently with a hydrotherapy treat.

Sports for competition & leisure

Join a sports team, train to be the best you can be and practice your skills for Olympic success. Take to the water with accessible sailing sessions, scale a climbing wall, or try a gentle round of golf, a fishing afternoon or a yoga workout.

Training for work

Refresh your skills with a work placement or book onto training for work courses to get qualifications that will showcase your skills to employers. All our courses are flexible and we can design whatever support you need.

Job searching

Get advice and support from an Employment Advisor to plan your career, apply for jobs and practice interview skills. Learn new travel routes to work and get ongoing support to build your career.

How it works

With iPLAN you will get support to:

  • Explore your ideas, research what's on offer and set your personal goals
  • Create your personal plan and update it every six months
  • Make contacts with the people and organisations that can help you achieve what you want
  • Get into the activities of your choice
  • Track your progress to make sure you're still happy and are on course to achieving your goals

    Who is it for?

iPLAN is for anyone with a learning disability who lives in Oxfordshire. We support people with autism, people with complex needs and older people with learning disabilities.

iPLAN is very flexible. You can buy an iPLAN service using your direct payments or personal budget. You can choose to get one-to-one support. Or, you can get together with friends, pool your money and set up your own service as a group. Whatever you decide, iPLAN will give you support that is designed to meet your needs and choices.

    Locations

iPLAN Oxfordshire is based in Witney and Banbury. We use these bases for training courses, some sessions, working on iPLANs together and researching what's on.
