Oxfordshire "Camden Wealth Games"

On August 8th, our Oxfordshire services came together to celebrate the “Camden-Wealth Games” at Witney’s Burwell Hall. Three different teams from The Camden Society’s supported living services in Oxford, Witney and Banbury competed in events such as welly wanging, egg and spoon, bean bags at targets, swing ball and a Butler challenge, involving champagne flutes, water and several people getting wet!

People very much enjoyed spending time together, taking part in these activities while also being offered drinks and food all day long.

The day ended with a trophy and medals ceremony where there were trophies on hand for each game winner, a prize for the best home-made cake and, of course, The Camden Cup for overall winners. All participants got also a medal for taking part in the event.

Days like these reflect the person-centred approach of the organisation, where people we support are always at the core of our activities and where all our events are structured around their wellbeing.

Jennifer Rumbelow, Support Coordinator, commented that “It’s not just about team-building (…) there were some great moments where people seemed to leave their troubles behind”.

The event was a great success and it will certainly be an annual fixture for years to come!
